The Question That Started It All
Most roller shoes are black, grey, or maybe neon green if the brand was feeling adventurous. We looked at that and thought: why?
Kids love things that shimmer. The holographic sticker collection. The sequin backpack. The light-up sneakers they refuse to take off. These aren′t just "things" — they′re expressions of personality. So why should roller shoes be the one piece of gear that looks like gym equipment?
GIMKOUNN was born from a single, stubborn question: why can′t roller shoes be the coolest pair of sneakers a kid owns?
The Glitter Lab
Every GIMKOUNN design starts with fabric. Before wheels, before sizing, before anything — we find the material that makes a kid gasp when they open the box.
We call it the Glitter Lab. Our design team sources sparkle textiles from specialty mills, tests holographic films and iridescent meshes, and obsesses over how light catches every angle. A GIMKOUNN shoe doesn′t just light up from the LEDs — it shimmers from the upper itself. Glitter TPU that won′t flake or fade. Mirror-finish overlays that catch the sun. Breathable mesh linings that keep feet cool all day.
The result: designer roller shoes that kids wear as everyday sneakers — wheels optional.
3-in-1 That Actually Makes Sense
Kids wear them to school. Pop out the wheels for recess. Pop them back in for the walk home. No strap-on frames, no carrying a second pair of shoes, no "Mom, can you help me with these?" Change takes seconds — rear wheels retract right into the sole, front wheels pop out with the included tool.
One at the heel, one at the ball of the foot. Stable, low center of gravity — the easiest way to learn. Tilt-to-brake works naturally.
Remove the front wheels for heel-only skating. A bit more challenging, perfect for tricks, and braking is even easier.
Retract rear + remove front. Now they′re regular light-up sneakers, ready for school or the playground.

Every GIMKOUNN shoe is UN38.3 + MSDS certified — the rechargeable battery system meets international transport and material safety standards.
The two-wheel design creates a naturally low center of gravity — dramatically easier to balance on than traditional four-wheel skates. Stop by simply tilting your foot: the edge of the sole touches down and brakes. No heel brake to learn, no complicated technique.
Each pair features a non-slip TPR outsole, reinforced ankle support, and an adjustable buckle for a secure, snug fit. Sizes cover US Little Kid 11–Big Kid 7.5, fitting kids ages 3 to 16.
