Each shoe has two wheels (one at the heel, one at the ball of the foot) with a built-in rechargeable LED system featuring 7 colors and 16 flash patterns. The rear wheels retract right into the sole, and each pair comes with a dedicated tool for removing the front wheels.
Why Two Wheels — Not Four
We tested four-wheel designs extensively. The problem is they demand serious balance just to stand still, and braking is a struggle — even for experienced skaters. Two wheels change everything. The open space around each wheel makes it dramatically easier to stay upright, and stopping is instinctive: tilt your foot slightly and the edge of the sole touches down to brake. It's the sweet spot where real skating meets real safety — and the reason every GIMKOUNN shoe uses a two-wheel setup.
3-in-1 Versatile Design
- Two wheels (default) — one at the heel, one at the ball of the foot. Stable, low center of gravity, and the easiest way to learn. Side-tilt braking works naturally in this mode.
- One wheel — use the included tool to remove the front wheels for heel-only skating. A bit more challenging to balance, but opens up trick skating and makes braking even easier — the wheel-free part of your foot touches the ground and you stop.
- No wheels (sneaker mode) — retract the rear wheels and remove the front wheels with the tool. Now they're regular light-up sneakers, ready for school or the playground.
